Feeling creative today ?

Spent some time today looking at the issue of CREATIVITY.

It arose from the early meeting that I attended with Mick Waters, and is linked to my forthcoming seminars at SAGT.

Back in the mid 80's, while doing my PGCE at Hull University, I remember reading the work of Piaget...
Here's something from Piaget that's on the LEARNING AND TEACHING SCOTLAND Creativity area:

The principal goal of education is to create people who are capable of doing new things, not simply repeating what other generations have done - people who are creative, inventive discoverers.'
Piaget

In Scotland, the Curriculum for Excellence has a lot to say on the issue of CREATIVITY.

So how about Creativity in GEOGRAPHY ? It's about looking at new APPROACHES, or using existing tools in different ways...
It's about helping students THINK GEOGRAPHICALLY !
It's about helping them appreciate that they are LIVING GEOGRAPHY....

Please pass on any thoughts on this post, or examples of your students (and your own) CREATIVITY.
More on this after SAGT !
