Paris-Roubaix

You can keep the Easter egg hunts, today is Paris-Roubaix day.
This is one of the oldest professional road cycle races, and is famous for being one of the toughest of all races. Part of the race (around 52 kilometres) is run over cobbles (pave - can you get an acute accent on the e in blogger ?), which adds an extra dimension to the race.

One of the classic cycle movies is 'Sunday in Hell', which documented the race of 1976. Parts can be seen on YouTube...

The official website has a map of the route, which is 259 kilometres long.

Live coverage on Eurosport from 1pm today.

Update: great race, but a horrible crash involving spectators. Hope all involved are OK and make a full recovery...
