It's good to talk...

Visitors to Felbrigg Hall, which is a short drive from where I live can now perch their buttocks on a bench and be surprised (or not) to hear the dulcet tones of Stephen Fry thanks to the BENCH MATE scheme.

This connects with one of the Missions that I wrote for the Mission:Explore book.. which considers the park benches that have plaques on them saying that people who are being remembered "loved this place"...

The blog article here also introduces the idea that students might follow up the "stories" that the products they buy have to tell... where they are from.
It also connects nicely with an article written by Ian Cook and colleagues that was published in Teaching Geography in Summer 2007, and links to the Follow the Things project

A Cartoon series in Granta: "The Factory".... was also relevant here, as it followed the processes involved in the production of burger and chips.

Finally, there's a very good piece by the genius Stewart Lee in a recent issue of the Observer, but don't read it unless you want to see some sweary language :)
