Mission:Explore Food - fully funded and coming soonn...

Quite an exciting time for Mission:Explore recently.
The first thing is that with the help of lots of individuals, and a few larger organisations, we successfully raised enough money to ensure that we can produce Mission:Explore FOOD - the 4th in our series of award-winning books.
Thanks to everyone who backed us, and supported us with cash. It's going to be awesome....

We've also launched a free booklet of missions for Climate Week, which can be downloaded from the TES resources website.
This includes a sample of resources with a food flavour for Climate Week. You'll need to login to download the resource in PDF format.

We'll also be at the EDUCATION SHOW later this week.
Look out for us on stand K52

And finally, watch out for us at the Hay Festival in June, when we'll be part of the children's mini-festival, along with Francesca Simon, author of the Horrid Henry books.

The biggest news is that we have launched new GROUPS which mean that you can create your own missions.

If you are a teacher or lecturer we’ve got an exciting new feature on MissionExplore.Net. You can now own a private group from which you can create and launch map-based challenges and learning activities. Using the site you can create an unlimited number of missions that you can assign to an unlimited number of self-made rewards. Your private group has its own private leaderboard too.

This is a fantastic and affordable way to make  trails, learning games, scavenger or treasure hunts. You could challenge your pupils to explore a local nature reserve, investigate a graveyard or even take part in random acts of kindness. Through your account you can track which missions your pupils have completed too.

You can see and join an Example Group here.

For more advanced users, you can also share your admin account with other teachers. This is ideal for cross-curricular projects in school or transition and international projects between schools. To make things easier for you, we can automatically register all of your pupils too.

During March 2012 all accounts are 1/2 price and start at just £15.

There's also the launch of DISCOVER:EXPLORE, which has been trialled by several people in the last few days. It launches on the 20th of March.

Finally, (and it's a long list) I shall be in Leeds in April to cycle the streets of the city and beyond, and create some new missions based around the local SUSTRANS cycle network and elsewhere....
