You can design your own street layout.
This would make a useful additional activity for units on urban planning and geography, or those looking at sustainable transport or green cities.
Design a street which is as friendly as possible to pedestrians, for example, or one with a guided busway down the middle, as in Curitiba, or strip out the pavements and fill them with trees...
Set width restrictions based on a street in your town and challenge students to redesign the street to improve it...
