GA Conference 2017 #6 - Presidential Lecture

The Presidential Lecture was next, and a crowded lecture theatre.

Mary Biddulph had chosen the theme of ‘Inclusive Geographies’, and her lecture was not surprisingly connected with this idea. She talked about the work of the Young People’s Geographies project, and there was another runout for the famous Anton video clip. I was involved in this project with Mary as a teacher, with my Year 10 students, and then later supported Mary and Roger Firth to complete the project when working for the GA. We had some splendid project days and videos with Solly Street.

She also referenced the work of Joe Moran, who I have used in several projects, including his work on everyday (quotidian) geographies.

A good lecture, with interesting ideas relating to inclusion in the broadest sense.
